Snuza Halo Baby Movement Monitor

Product Description

Peace of Mind at the Press of a Button
Superior Sensor: Placed next to baby's abdomen, detects even the slightest irregularity in breathing
Snuza Halo detects even the slightest movement and will alert you if your baby's movements are very weak or fall to less than 8 movements per minute.
If no movement at all is detected for a period of 15 seconds, Halo will vibrate gently. Often this vibration is enough to rouse the baby, and Halo will revert to monitoring mode.
After three vibration/rouse incidents, the Rouse Warning will alert you to the fact that your baby's movements have stopped for 15 seconds on three occasions.
If no further movement is detected for another 5 seconds, an alarm will sound to alert you.
-Small - fits onto baby's diaper
-Portable
-Easy-to-use
-Vibration stimulation after 15 seconds
-Rouse Warning
-Audible alarm after 20 seconds
-Movement-rate Indicator to warn about weak or infrequent movement
Snuza safely and conveniently monitors your baby's every movement.
Clip the Snuza onto the waistband of your baby's diaper and switch on.
The flexible sensor detects your baby's tummy movement.
A built-in vibrating stimulator on the Halo model gently rouses baby 15 seconds after movement stops.
If there is still no movement after 20 seconds, an alarm will sound to alert you to take immediate action.
Snuza can be used in conjunction with a baby sound or video monitor so that it can be heard in another room.
Snuza monitors are particularly useful for co-sleeping twins and multiples, where an under-mattress monitor is not effective.
Snuza is the only type of movement monitor that can be used if baby is sleeping in your bed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Buy for New Mom!, December 1, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Snuza Halo Baby Movement Monitor (Baby Product)
As a new (neurotic) mom, I was terrified of SIDS. I found this product and purchased it to help soothe my fears. This has finally allowed me consistent night's peace. The first 3 weeks we had my daughter home I could not sleep. Every time I did not hear her breathe over the monitor I was sure something happened. Now I can sleep as long as my Bella has her baby beeper on!
Okay... how it works is simple... The Snuza fits snugly on her diaper and will vibrate if she stops breathing for any time. This usually causes her to take in a breath and "remind" her to breathe. I know when this happens, because the Snuza has a yellow warning button in the morning (as opposed to green).
My daughter is now 4.5 months old. It has vibrated her several times and alarmed 3 times. Each alarm was absolutely terrifying. My daughter was not breathing, however within seconds we were there to pick her up and wake her up! I don't know and don't want to know what would happen if we did... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, January 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Snuza Halo Baby Movement Monitor (Baby Product)
After having lost a child to SIDS, this monitor was a must have. Our daughter is almost 6 months and we have only have 2 false alarms. Both times the monitor was not snug on her diaper. The monitor is very easy to use. It does not seem uncomfortable for the baby. When we first got home with the new baby, we were not sure how much sleep we would get since we had lost a child to SIDS, but once we started using the monitor, we were both able to get sleep a little better. We tested it to see how it worked before placing it on the baby. The vibration is a strong vibration to wake up the baby and the alarm is very loud. One of the times it went off as a false alarm I was asleep on the other end of the house and the alarm woke me up and everything turned out to be fine. Definitely would recommend this monitor to others and have actually recommended it to several friends that are expecting.

3.0 out of 5 stars awful battery life, July 28, 2011
This review is from: Snuza Halo Baby Movement Monitor (Baby Product)
I love this item in concept. We have twins so it was the only movement alarm that really works for multiples. I love that it's portable, too.

The vibrate feature is useless except for warning the parent that an alarm is coming (so that you can turn it off before the alarm goes off - which also never really woke the kid and only sent my dog barking like a maniac). The vibrate never roused my kids from their deep sleep. If you are considering a snuza, save your money and go for the Snuza Go! which does not have the vibrate feature.

Battery life is terrible - it says that it should last a year, but I have no idea how they came up with this milestone. Both my units had their batteries die about 4 months into use. I have replaced the batteries and one of the units is again dead, only three months after replacing the battery.

Finally, if you have a belly sleeper, you might not hear the alarm too well.

Otherwise, the unit did give me peace... Read more
